Food for Thought: I would like to apologize...

First of all, I am going to start with a "Thank You". Thank you for all the support with this movie review blogspot. I greatly appreciate all the feedback I have received on here and my twitter account (www.twitter.com/moviemonsterr). You all challenge me to be that much better every day.

...That being said, as of late, I haven't updated my reviews as much as I would like and for that I deeply apologize. Between work and my life outside this, things have been extremely hectic. I am going to catch up on the "100 Movies in 100 Days" and give reviews every free chance I get.

Thank you again for the support. Together, we will rid Hollywood of crap movies...or at least find the "awesome" through the proverbial "bull shit".

Now eat that up.

Food for Thought: "Kick-Ass" the Movie. Your Child's "Historic Event".

In a few hours, a historic event will happen in the lives of those born in the late 90s and early 00s. These children/Pre-Teens will talk their parents into taking them to see a movie called “Kick-Ass”.

^^^^ Nice Trailer ^^^^

Now, I say “Historic Event” because “Kick-Ass” looks to be one of those movies that will stay with a child forever. Whether that’s a good thing or bad thing, is a question that only time will be able to answer…

I’m sure a lot of you think I’m pretty sick for this blog entry. Well, if that’s the case, I charge you to think about the “Adult” movies your parents (or Older Siblings) took you to go see. I’m sure they were in the theaters mad at themselves for letting you watch that movie…but remember how COOL you thought your parent/sibling was for that two-something hours? Remember the outlandish conversations you had with friends the next day at school? The sad thing is…I’m sure you do remember and have a smile on your face this very moment. A smile that says “I outsmarted my parents…and DAMN it felt good!”

As I type this, I can’t help but remember my “Historic Event”, aka “The Day I Outsmarted My Parents”…well movie wises. The year was 1999, I was 11 years old. Comedy Central had a little cartoon on the air. By that ‘99, it had maybe been on about two years. Well not many parents knew about “Comedy Central” let alone any cartoons they played. Good thing about that was kids, at least the ones at my school, were able to keep the show a secret. So it was some week during summer camp, I hear the little cartoon on “Comedy Central“ has a new movie coming out. After talking to a few other kids, they agreed to take off camp that Friday so we can go see it. Next, we talked to our parents, since we needed them to call us out.

*Long Conversation Short*
Child: “A new cartoon is coming out this week. Can I go see it?”
Parent: “Sure. What’s it rated?”
Child: “I dunno…but (insert long list of friends’ names) are going PLUS it’s a cartoon…”
*blah blah blah. Basically Conversation Ended*

My friend Cameron had a van so his mom ended up taking all of us to see…

“South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut”.

I will NEVER forget the time spent watching that movie for the 1st time.

Understand, I am not saying that it’s okay I saw that movie at the age of 11...just that moment is forever burned into my head…making it, somewhat, a “Historic Event”.

IF you do not want “Kick-Ass” to be your child’s “Historic Event”, please do your homework before heading out this weekend. Don’t let witty marketing and a quick conversation with your cleaver child be the reason you have to kick yourself in the ass. Pun not intended.

^^^^ Not so Nice Trailer ^^^^

…now that I think about it…I wonder how Cameron’s Mom felt while she was in the movie with us? Hmmm…nevertheless, that was one of the greatest moments in my life. Again…whether that’s a good thing or a bad thing, is a question that only time will be able to answer.

Now eat that up.

Food for Thought: I was running in my sleep. Think "Casino Royale".

Last night, I had the most awkward dream. I was running from something or someone...

Climbing up shit, Freerunning and what not. Only problem is...I have no idea why.

Probably, running from the thought of having to spend time writing a review for "Why Did I Get Married Too?". :/

Hm.

^^^^ My dream. Minus the jungle...and extra coverage shots in HD. ^^^^

Food for Thought: I dreamt I was in "Hurt Locker"...too much medication.

I dreamt I was apart of the Bomb Squat Unit in "The Hurt Locker" last night.

I was pretty skilled when it came to disarming bombs. None of them blew up...around me at least. Dope ass dream, nevertheless...too bad I didn't find the movie as entertaining as my dream.

Benadryl, Nitequil, n Weed make for the most interesting Lucid Dreams. Hm...

^^^^Me at work.^^^^

Watch part of my dream...not really...just a scene from "The Hurt Locker". But still. Watch.

Now eat that up...

Food for Thought: "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"...I'm playing Cameron.

It's my day off. So many things to do. A great majority of the things are fun...but I'm sicker than a Tijuana Donkey Show.

"When Trey was in Egypt's Land...Let my Trey Gooooooooooo..."

Now watch one of my favorite scenes in "Ferris Bueller's Day Off"

...I'm still debating whether to go out... :/

Now eat that up...

Food for Thought: Beautiful Destruction and "Requiem for a Dream"

I have never before witnessed the “Beautiful Destruction” of a human being until I saw "Requiem for a Dream". Honestly, I can say seeing this movie at the tender age of 12, is one of the MANY reasons I have a deep love for film.

The ending sequence of this movie is “Painfully Gorgeous”.

****SPOILER ALERT…I mean it IS the ending.****
